CAPTAIN AMERICA

I used to love reading Captain America when Paul Neary drew it. Paul Neary was/is one of my favourite comic book illustrators. wonder what he's doing now? I'll have to google him.

I drew this at lunchtime yesterday (well, scribbled it really).
Where's Bucky, Wayne?

CHEESE BURGER and ZERO

How could we leave out Cheese Burger? And, of course, the hero of our Dandy comic strip and would be animated T.V. star, Zero!

Same again - Gordon done the sketches and I did the finished art which was then passed back to Gordon for finishing touches and someone at the DCT art department made the cool stand-up figures.

More frequent posting action coming soon,

TIDDLES and FRIENDS

These cardboard cut-out characters from The Dandy strip DOG 2 Zero were created for a promotional trip a year or so ago. They looked great and I wish we could have kept them - unfortunately they were left in Cannes. So Tiddles and his Ninja cats are probably lapping it up in some posh hotel now!

I sketched them out, Wayne drew them up and then I re-drew and coloured them in Illustrator so they could be scaled up.

WE ARE THE ROBOTS

Tidying up my desk (some hope) as we prepare to move office and found these little robot sketches. I love drawing little robots.

LUNCHTIME BEGINS

For a while we challenged each other to draw something non-work related every lunchtime. We would email them to each other for mutual praise but apart from that it was a fun exercise to draw something other than the stuff you get paid to do.
Here's a lunchtime Batman sketch by Wayne Thompson.

How very DARE you?

Here's a recently completed bit of drawing - it's a cover for a comic strip we recently done for a computer game thingy at Abertay University called Dare to be Digital. It's a really cool competition that culminates in an event that takes part in Edinburgh during the festival called Dare ProtoPlay. The organisers give away a free comic and this is the third year me and Wayne have done it. Character design by Mr. Thompson and finished art by me on this particular page.

FLAME ON!

Thought we would kick off with this one 'cos we both had a hand in it
Wayne did the original sketch and I finished it off.
Wayne did a load of kid friendly Marvel heroes quite some time ago for an American based design agency.
